Today Rep. Janice Hahn garnered a high-profile endorsement from the chief executive of the largest city in the 4th Supervisorial district: Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia.

With over 255,000 registered voters, the city of Long Beach makes up the largest slice of the expansive 4thSupervisorial district. It's also the seventh largest city by population in the state of California. Having the Mayor’s support is a significant feat for any candidate running to represent the 4th district on the Board of Supervisors.
"Janice Hahn and I have had a collaborative and close working relationship for many years. As one of our two members of Congress, Janice has advocated for Long Beach on numerous issues including education, workforce development, and port issues.  She is also committed to important civil rights issues including immigration reform and marriage equality for the LGBT community. I'm thrilled to strongly endorse her for L.A. County Supervisor."

Rep. Janice Hahn responded by remarking:
“It’s a tremendous honor to have the support of Mayor Garcia. As the chief executive of Long Beach, Mayor Garcia has made his mark as an optimistic and energetic leader, committed to improving the quality of life for the city’s residents. During his time as Mayor, he’s demonstrated a unique ability to bring people together to solve problems, create jobs, and strengthen the regional economy, particularly the ports. I look forward to partnering together with him on these important issues.”
