JANICE HAHN ADDS SUPERVISOR YVONNE BURKE TO LIST OF SUPPORTERS

SAN PEDRO, CA— Continuing to rake-in important endorsements in her campaign for L.A. County Supervisor District 4, today United States Representative Janice Hahn earned a formidable endorsement from the esteemed former L.A. County Supervisor, Yvonne Burke.

Significantly, Burke was the first African American woman to represent the West Coast in the United States Congress, where she served from 1973- 1978. Following her time in Washington, D.C., Burke served on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors representing the 2nd District from 1992-2008.

In endorsing Rep. Janice Hahn, former L.A. County Supervisor Yvonne Burke released the following statement:

“As a former County Supervisor, I know first-hand what it takes to be successful on the Board. That's why I'm excited to support Janice Hahn, because she's not only extremely qualified, but she's got the coalition building skills and the vision needed to move the County forward. I am fully confident that Janice will make an outstanding Supervisor for the residents of the 4th District.”

Unlike any other candidate running for Los Angeles County Supervisor this cycle, Rep. Janice Hahn has consolidated unprecedented and far-reaching support ranging from the Los Angele County Democratic Party to Republican former Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan, to myriad labor and business groups and leaders, public safety organizations, women’s groups, environmentalists, grassroots activists and neighborhood leaders, among numerous others.
