SAN PEDRO, CA— Further consolidating crucial support among important community leaders and organizations, today United States Representative Janice Hahn landed an endorsement from the Whittier Latino Coalition in her campaign to represent the 4th district on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.

Today’s endorsement follows last night's report by the Los Angeles Times which noted that Rep. Janice Hahn was the top fundraiser in the 4th District race, with more than double what competitor Steve Napolitano had raised and almost triple what Mike Gin had raised.

In announcing their support of Rep. Hahn, Angelita Medina of the Whittier Latino Coalition stated:

“Representative Janice Hahn shares our vision for a more accessible Whittier. That means increased access to smart mass transit projects like having the new Gold Line rail system come into our City. Beyond transportation issues, Rep. Hahn has demonstrated great compassion and steadfastness when it comes to advocating for issues that impact our community, including pushing for advancements in immigrant rights, equal representation of minority communities, expanded access to healthcare, economic opportunity, neighborhood security, and improving local neighborhood schools. For these reasons and countless more, Rep. Janice Hahn is our choice for Supervisor in the 4th District.”

The Whittier Latino Coalition (WLC) is a nonpartisan community based organization founded in 1998. The mission of WLC is to increase the civic participation of Latinos in the greater Whittier area.

Unlike any other candidate running for Los Angeles County Supervisor this cycle, Rep. Janice Hahn has consolidated unprecedented and far-reaching support ranging from the Los Angele County Democratic Party to Republican former Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan, to myriad labor and business groups and leaders, public safety organizations, women’s groups, environmentalists, grassroots activists and neighborhood leaders, among numerous others.
